Rachel Weisz as Evelyn Carnahan having fetish fuel fun with the mummies in The Mummy. That’s not a bulb of garlic, it’s a canopic jar.

Male mummies have their own problems, and raise other questions.

Ancient Egypt has gone in and out vogue in the West, with some high-water marks in the 1830s and 1920s. I think that erotically, it gives both artists and their audience a sort of free pass on Orientalism, because come on, this civilization has been gone for like 2500 years, so who’s left to offend?

I think I’ve made it clear that I hate pretty much everything to do with John Norman and Gor. Not a very original position.
That said, credit where it’s due: I think it was probably Norman who came up with the notion of various “slave positions”, one lovingly illustrated lexicon of which is here. While Norman’s vocabulary seems geeky to me, I find the idea of having standard positions to be quite practical, and Murre uses yoga pose names for many of these.
When I’m asked to display myself submissively for inspection, I tend to resort to something like what Norman calls “Nadu”:
The slavegirl kneels with thighs spread wide, back held straight or arched slightly, breasts thrust forward, head held high with eyes lowered, sitting back on heels, hands resting palms up or palms down on thighs. Palms up was considered a plea for rape in some circumstances.
Drawings or paintings of mirrors are a difficult technical exercise, and depending on how the mirror is supposed to be aligned, a very difficult exercise.
And here again.
(Note that you can’t really do this the other way around. If you put a crucifix, even a St. Andrew’s cross, way off in the background, it becomes a Golgotha image. Moreover, if there’s a man on a crucifix, it’s a religious image, not an erotic one, so the figure needs to be close enough to make sure we see it’s female.)
The girl in front looks genuinely exhausted. I think when they reach the clearing where they’re going to be crucified for the night, she’ll actually be delighted that the hike is over.
Arcimboldo.
I can’t decide if they’re leaving her there, or they’re the ones picking her up. I think the former.
Namio Harukawa (b. 1947) is a really prolific femdom artist with a very narrow range of themes. His women are always on the heavy side, and much bigger than the skinny sub boys, who are generally getting smothered by them.
I like this image because (1) it’s technically a lot better much than much of Namio’s work, and (2) the size ratio of the two lovers isn’t unrealistic. I like the realism of her pose, too. A lot of face-sitting images have the woman sitting directly on the sub’s face with all their weight, which doesn’t work for anybody.
