Ta da! Spotting these fascinates me; it’s sort of like playing Go Fish on my tumblr dashboard. (And I would add that it doesn’t bother me at all that this image isn’t “original”, I’m just fascinated by the little shifts being made. This is sort of the reverse…the domme appears “bigger”, because she’s heavier set. But if the sub were allowed to stand upright, she’d be much taller.

It’s the first ten pieces of Katniss/Peeta fanart suggested by Google. We note that in every single fucking one of them, Katniss is shorter—usually by at least four inches or so. This despite the fact that many of them reference the faces of the actors in the film, not the description of the characters in the book. (He is “medium height” in the book).

Clearly, the idea that guys are taller than girls has a lot of inertia behind it.

ETA: Hmmm, Hawthorne Hedge points out a passage in the book which does show that Katniss is shorter than Peeta. I still find it interesting that artists using the actors’ faces have changed their heights so dramatically.
