Here’s a sad story. The photo above is a self-portrait by “Jenna Chaste”, a chastity-sissy who used to keep a blog at lockedupslut. I’ve had this picture sitting in my folder for a long time, because I think it’s really beautiful and most sissy / feminization pictures kind of…aren’t.
Jenna was recently beaten up after going to an adult bookstore that had some kind of arrangement for anonymous gay sex in booths. He (she?) got attacked and thrown out of the place for being a sissy. Afterwards, with a broken nose, Jenna reflected that going to the police, etc., was out of the question.
I have written about anti-kink stigma elsewhere. Discussions of the issue usually get reduced to meaningless comparisons of different kinds of prejudice. It is worth remembering that there are real people getting hurt in real ways for their kinks.
From Dr. Halat’s website.
Should I be bothered that his math is completely wrong? To take the more obvious example, if you have sex with 2 people who’ve each had sex with 2 people, you have been exposed to a minimum of 4 people, not 3 (unless your two partners just happened to have only had sex with each other). The math gets worse from there…
But the man has a microscope and a lab coat, so I shouldn’t complain.
This graph, which has been fairly widely circulated (along with considerable debate about it’s legitimacy) is from the Wellesley/MIT student paper Counterpoint. The original article is no longer online, so it’s hard to say how scientific it was, but everything I can gather suggests that it was at least based on an actual survey. For me, the points of verisimilitude are the relatively shallow slope of the curve, the fact that “undecided” was included as a major, and the duplications of 83% (10 in 12) and 50%.
Also, the order makes sense to me, but YMMV.
I chose this image as one of the 70 images I used in my earlier survey. When I randomized their order, this one came out first, so it was the first image to “greet” people who took the survey. And it provoked the full range of responses: She’s a domme. She’s a sex slave. She’s a lesbian. She’s an attempt to find out if I’m gay—fuck you, Orlando! And so forth. Most interestingly, quite a number of responses described her facial expression, which is…obviously…off-camera.
Clearly orifices can be quite expressive, but we don’t all read them the same way.

A first draft of the survey results is now up on Kink Research. There’s some formatting still to be done, and probably some more editing, but honestly it might take me a while longer to get to all that. The results are there, though.
It’s about 12 pages. The short version is this: when people look at porn, they reinterpret the images in very surprising, diverse, and creative ways. Or, to put it another way, people see pretty much what they want to see.
Yup.
Thanks again to everyone who participated. I think this is kind of groundbreaking, actually.
The Leather Archives & Museum is seeking to compile resources about fetishes that we don’t usually hear about. We hope to expand our collections to cover a wider range of alternative sexualities.
We are interested in anything that has to do with unusual fetishes — objects, stories, pornography, erotica, websites, conversations — really, anything! Fetishes we don’t have much experience with include feet, fursuits, amputations, robots, dolls, balloons, tentacles, sneezing, crushing objects — but there are simply too many fetishes in the world for a comprehensive list.
We at the Leather Archives & Museum have plenty of experience with coming to terms with unusual sexual desires. Our goal is not to exoticize alternative sexuality, nor do we intend to shame anyone who discusses alternative sexuality with us. Our goal is to preserve the history of alternative sexuality — all alternative sexuality.
We respect your privacy. Anything you send us or tell us can be kept under your real name or a pseudonym, as you prefer.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all 97 of you(!) that took the survey. The results will be ready in a few weeks, and I’ll link to them from here. Thanks again.

Happy Halloween!
If you haven’t already checked out the pornography survey I’m running, now is your last chance. I’m closing up shop there on Sunday. 94 responses so far; it would be awesome to get 100.
Thanks again, everyone….
